Bear with me on this,

In a nutshell, I track who plays and for how long, how many moves, how high a score, that sort of thing. If you're interested check out the stats page, which displays pretty much what I store.

As you can see its attached to your in game name, so you can control you privacy by simply not putting your full name and address as your username.

Other than that, I store (Or will at some point) some info, just enough to determine unique users, and when games are happenign, so I can track how many people use the site and when they use it. This information is depersonalized. I would like to track country of origin so that I can eventually have someone play from every corner of the globe, but at the moment, haven't implemented this.

I decided to stop using Google Analytics and other third party services because they are quite greedy with their data. I've opted to keep it quite simple.
